Festival Guidelines

Festival Date: Saturday, July 18, 2026
Location: Wolfe Island, Ontario, St. Lawrence Street.

Congratulations on your acceptance into Skýlla!

As one of our inaugural vendors, artists, performers, and community participants, you are helping bring the very first Skýlla Festival to life. What began as an idea has grown into a new celebration of women and gender diverse artists, makers, musicians, and community, and we are grateful to have you be part of it.

Our hope is that Skýlla becomes an annual tradition on Wolfe Island for years to come. The first year of any festival is a special one, and every participant plays a role in helping shape its future.

Please read the following guidelines carefully before registering. These guidelines are intended to ensure a safe, inclusive, and successful event for everyone involved.

Booth Registration Details

Booth Set-Up & Display Requirements

  • Standard booth spaces are approximately 10' x 10'.

  • Double booth spaces are approximately 10' x 20'.

  • All vendors must complete set-up on Saturday, July 18 between 7:00 AM and 9:30 AM. There will be no early set-up available.

  • All booths must be fully set up and ready to welcome attendees by 10:00 AM.

    Additional Requirements

    • Tents are strongly recommended. No staking into the ground is permitted. All tents must be secured with appropriate weights.

    • Vendors are responsible for providing their own tent, tables, chairs, displays, and weather protection.

    • Displays must be safe, secure, and contained within the assigned booth space.

    • Electricity is not available.

    • Vendors are expected to remain at their booth for the duration of the festival. Friends, family members, or assistants are welcome to help, but the vendor must be present and may not leave the booth solely in the care of others.

    • Booth tear-down may begin only after the festival officially concludes at 5:00 PM. Early tear-down is not permitted, except in the case of an emergency and with approval from festival organizers.

Social Media Feature Opportunity

We would love to help introduce our vendors to the Skýlla community.

If you would like to be considered for a feature on Skýlla's social media channels, please email 2 to 5 high-quality images of yourself, your products, or your work to skyllafestival@gmail.com.

While we would love to feature everyone, submission does not guarantee inclusion. Priority will be given to vendors who have completed their registration and payment.

Accessibility

Skýlla is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive experience for all vendors, artists, performers, volunteers, and attendees.

If you have any accessibility needs, accommodations, or considerations that would help support your participation, please contact us at skyllafestival@gmail.com. We are happy to work with you to find solutions and help make the festival as accessible as possible.

Environmental Considerations

As a festival taking place on Wolfe Island, we encourage all participants to help us care for the environment and reduce waste wherever possible.

Please bring a reusable water bottle and consider using reusable, recyclable, or environmentally conscious packaging and materials when possible.

Vendors are responsible for keeping their booth area clean throughout the day and for removing all waste, recycling, and display materials at the end of the festival.

Food Vendors

Vendors selling food or beverage products are required to obtain all necessary permits, approvals, and licensing, including any requirements set by Southeast Public Health (formerly KFL&A Public Health).

Food vendors will receive a special event food vendor application form from us that must be submitted to skyllafestival@gmail.com by June 30, 2026.

It is the responsibility of each food vendor to ensure they are operating in compliance with all applicable health, safety, and food handling regulations.

Festival Merchandise

Official Skýlla Festival merchandise will be available for purchase at the Information Tent during the festival.

A selection of festival apparel and merchandise will be available while quantities last.

Security & Festival Conduct

All vendors participate at their own risk. Skýlla Festival is not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of merchandise, equipment, displays, artwork, or personal belongings.

Skýlla is a rain or shine event. Vendors are responsible for preparing for changing weather conditions and ensuring their booth is appropriately protected.

At its heart, Skýlla is a celebration of creativity, community, and connection. We ask all vendors, performers, volunteers, attendees, organizers, and community members to contribute to a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere throughout the day.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, violence, or aggressive behaviour. Anyone assisting at a vendor booth is considered a representative of that vendor and is expected to uphold the same standards of respect and professionalism.

Festival organizers reserve the right to ask any individual whose behaviour negatively impacts the safety, comfort, or experience of others to leave the festival grounds. Individuals removed from the festival may not be eligible to participate in future Skýlla events.

Insurance Requirements

All vendors are required to carry a minimum of $1 million in liability insurance for the duration of the festival.

Proof of insurance must be submitted to skyllafestival@gmail.com by July 1, 2026.

Vendors who do not provide proof of insurance by this deadline will not be permitted to participate in the festival. Payments are non-refundable, and the booth space may be offered to another applicant.

If you already have your own liability insurance policy, Skýlla Festival must be listed as an additional insured on your certificate of insurance. Please submit a copy of your certificate showing this coverage to skyllafestival@gmail.com.

For vendors who do not already have insurance coverage, we recommend purchasing event insurance through Duuo. Please note that you will need to create an account or log in to Duuo before purchasing coverage.
